The main cinema chains in the Netherlands include Pathé, Minerva and Utopolis. They operate principally in large multi-screen premises and allow online reservations via their websites. Although the websites are mostly in Dutch the basic listing, and timing information is easy to follow. Pathé sells a Pathé Unlimited Card (PUC) which gives unlimited entrance to any of its cinemas in Holland for a set fee per month. Locally, there are some smaller independent cinemas, some with only one or two screens. Often they specialise in showing smaller budget movies – usually in Dutch. However, one or two including the Lantaren-Venster in Rotterdam have annual film festivals where they show English-language films. As many Dutch speak excellent English, it is common for cinemas around the country to show films in the original language with Dutch subtitles. Alternatively, if the film is in Dutch there will often be English subtitles.
