Lambert van Meerten (1842-1904) bought a property on Old Delft in 1892, He had everything demolished and used the land to have his dream house 'Oud Holland', 'Old Holland', built for 100,000 guilders. It became a canal property in Neo-Renaissance style. The house has been open as a museum since 1909. The different rooms show the extensive tile collection of Jan Schouten. The Rose Windmill is the only surving windmill of 15 once located in Delft. It used to be used for grinding grain for the farmers and the bakeries. It is in full working order and can be viewed when there is a blug flag flying from the top. It is a short walk from the Old Church in Delft.

A large presentation of early Italian art. It revolves around the Dutch collector of Italian Renaissance art, Prof. Dr. Otto Lanz (1865-1935). After World War II, a major part of his extensive collection ended up in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and another part came to the Bonnefantenmuseum in the late 1980s. In this semi-permanent presentation, works from the Lanz collection are supplemented with art from collections of other collectors who were active in the inter-war period, such as the businessman Edwin vom Rath. Built in the 13th century, the Gevangenpoort was one of the three entrance gates to the castle of the Counts of Holland. In 1428 the gate was turned into a prison, a function it held for exactly four centuries. During these four centuries, suspects of murder, theft and coin forgery as well as debtors have been held prisoner in this building. In 1828 tours were started for visitors, and the building became a museum. We would like to inform you of the temporary closure of the museum due to renovations. A 10km walk through the dunes past the ‘Jutterskeet Ome Jan’ beach museum and the ‘De Berenkuil’ sand playground. Starts at Biesieklette Kijkduin.

A 2 - 4 km walk which takes you aroungd the Clingendal Estate. Lawns, trees and the Estate house may be viewed. Follow the red or yellow walking routes. The entrance is on the Wassenaarseweg.

A butterfly garden in the Reigersbergen, located on the meadow's edge by the allotments. It has been created and maintained by volunteers. A wide variety of butterflys can be spotted.

The Vermeer trail is a walk around the town of Delft. The walk takes you to see the famous ‘View of Delft’ as painted by Vermeer to the church in the heart of Delft where he was baptised as a baby on the Great Market Square, it finishes at Voldersgracht on which it is believed that Vermeer modelled his ‘The Little Street’ painting.
